【Printing Processing】Scoring Processing

Crease processing for preventing splitting of paper products and assisting in folding operations.

Creases are also called guide lines. Creasing processing is used as a guide for neatly folding printed materials. It is useful for shop cards and message cards that are delivered without being folded. Additionally, it is effective in preventing back splitting (note) of printed materials and thick paper. Depending on the desired product and specifications, creasing processing may be necessary. The appropriate thickness of the crease will also change depending on the thickness of the paper being used. Furthermore, it is not possible to mix peaks and valleys of the creases. Special creasing processes, such as partial creases or diagonal creases, can be performed as part of the die-cutting (cutting) process by creating a dedicated die. (Note) Back splitting - This occurs when the fibers at the crease of printed materials separate during the folding process, causing the print to peel off.
